Meet the Owner of Deerwood Academy

Owner Lucinda Chapin built and opened Deerwood Academy in 2006. Having completed an MBA at the University of Nebraska and built a career in healthcare services, Lucinda decided to open a warm and joyful child care center that encourages children to thrive as they grow. In addition to many years of experience working for a well-known leader in the healthcare field, Lucinda has completed an Advanced Director's Credential to help her lead Deerwood Academy to success.

Learn More about Our Business Development Director

Business Development Director Sheri Jenkins has been with Deerwood Academy for several years, and previously in early childhood education for many years. In addition to her real-world experience, Sheri holds her associates degree and a staff credential through the state of Florida. She is committed to helping the children achieve excellence in their personal interview essay example and beyond.

Our Center Director Welcomes You

Center Director Kristina Rad has been working with children in many settings for over 15 years. With a Bachelor's in Education, Kristina has worked as a teacher and a nanny before coming to Deerwood Academy in 2009. After working as lead teacher of the infant care program, Kristina moved to the management team to better assist the center and the children.

Our Assistant Director Rounds out the Team

Assistant Director, Carolina Jaramillo has been working with children for over 12 years. With a wide range of experience, from working with infants through teaching and graduating VPK classes, all the way to working as a director. Carolina has a passion for loving and caring for children, and is committed to helping with the growth of your children here, at The Deerwood Academy.
